New activity feed
April 8th, 2010 by admin
Post two of two of our recent updates to ReviewSpace focuses on our new activity feeds.
When logging in, you will be presented with a new overview activity feed like in the picture below, which gives you upto the last 7 things to happen in each of your projects.
The list is ordered so that the project that was most recently updated is at the top. This means that as soon as you log in you can see the most recent things to happen.
We added the new feed so that you can immediately see an overview of all of the projects you are working on, without the need to navigate into each project.
Listed below are the main features
- This is the Client name, click here to navigate to that client and see all if its projects.
- The Project name, click here to navigate into the project.
- Shortcut links that enable you to easily add a file, discussion or list without needing to navigate elsewhere.
- This section shows the user that performed the action, what the action was, when it happened and a link (in green) to view the action.
- Quick link into the project.
- The late that the project was last updated.
We hope that these updates our useful to you and as ever would welcome any feedback.
New email settings
April 8th, 2010 by admin
Welcome to post one of two for new updates on Reviewspace.
This post is in regards to how you are notified about new activity from your ReviewSpace projects. We have had mixed responses to the way that emails are sent within ReviewSpace.
Previously you would receive an email for the first action that has happened in a project. Until you visited that project you wouldn’t get anymore updates (to avoid spamming you). Whilst we thought this was quite a clever process, it did however mean that if you missed the initial email, then you would be unaware of any new updates.
We then changed this so that you received an email for every update for each project – this resulted in a swarm of emails (some for projects that you may have been part of, but not really active in).
As a solution, we have introduced per project email settings, so that you can choose not to receive updates for particular projects.
Within each project you will now see a new actions panel, where you will be able to easily perform all of the actions associated with a project including the ability to toggle your email settings.
You will also notice that the email preference has been removed from the My Account section (it is now only accessible from within each project).
We hope these new updates will be useful to you, but as ever we’d love to hear your comments and feedback.
Look out for our second post, which explains our new Activity feeds!

More ReviewSpace Updates
February 23rd, 2010 by admin
Earlier on today we published another update to ReviewSpace. This time it was for our uploader.
Until now we had a basic HTML uploader and a Java based uploader. Java was needed in order to handle larger file sizes due to the limitations of sending large files over the internet.
It did it’s job and allowed us to upload files upto 2GB in size, however on some machines it was slow, tempremental and sometimes failed. We knew that we had to think of a new way to get large files into ReviewSpace.
We racked our brains and tried to think of a better way of doing it. Simply trying to upload the file in one go just wasn’t feasible so we came to the conclusion that we needed to split the file up into smaller ‘chunks’, and send them one at a time and then join them back together on the server.
Enter our new Flash based uploader. It looks pretty much the same as the Java one and allows a smoother way to upload files.
The uploader is limited to file sizes of up to 2GB.
Progress is given via a progress bar and loading graphic.
Clicking Cancel, prompts the user to confirm their choice before closing the uploader.
You can try the new uploader straight away by changing your upload preference to Flash from within the My Account section of ReviewSpace.
Please note that you will need at least Flash player 10.0.32.18. Don’t worry if that doesn’t mean anything to you, if you don’t have the correct version, you will be prompted to upgrade.
This is just the start of a suite of new features that allow you to upload your files.
ReviewSpace sponsors Graphic Rivers’ Competition

What is Graphic River?
At GraphicRiver you can buy and sell royalty-free, layered Photoshop files, vectors, icon packs, Adobe add-ons and design templates. Today is Your Day to Review
February 12th, 2010 by admin
After a hectic month, our ReviewSpace campaign has officially kicked off today!
We’ve had a busy month preparing for the launch, creating marketing materials, setting up new instances, and getting coverage in the press and online publications, but we’re not stopping there! We’ve already sponsored the High Tea at Fazeley Studios and are due to sponsor Birmingham Social Media Cafe on the 26th February too! You’ll also find us at Creative Networks on 25th February providing a demo to the audience on what ReviewSpace can do for you!
Thanks to all those fantastic Beta users who have helped us through much of the initial stages of ReviewSpace and whose feedback we greatly appreciate. We will be rewarding you shortly!
We’d also like to give a huge welcome to our international ReviewSpace users in America, Canada and Australia!
No doubt we’ll still be busy over the coming months but the great response we’ve had to ReviewSpace so far makes it all worthwhile!
Thanks again to all those helping out with ReviewSpace and hope to see you at some of the upcoming events!

Editing ReviewSpace Comments
March 3rd, 2010 by Will
One topic that keeps appearing in our feedback is the ability to edit comments.
There are a lot of questions to be considered when you start to think about editing comments and how it affects the flow of the conversation. Who can edit comments? Is there a point when editing is no longer available? After someone has replied to a comment can that original still be edited?
We’ve decided for now to leave things as simple as possible, and see how this is used. We expect most editing will be to correct a simple mistake, so this is what we’ve come up with.
Only you can edit your comments, and you can edit them whenever you like. To preserve the original flow of the conversation we archive all versions of a comment, these can be accessed by anyone directly in the thread.
How it works
Here’s a discussion with a spelling mistake in the first comment. To edit this, just click the edit button. The form loads in place of the original comment.
Make any changes and click save.
You’ll now see the last edited date is shown below the comment text click on this to view previous versions of the comment, everyone is able to view archived comments.
As always we’re interested in hearing your thoughts about this and any other feedback you have about ReviewSpace.
