New email settings
April 8th, 2010 by Leon
Welcome to post one of two for new updates on Reviewspace.
This post is in regards to how you are notified about new activity from your ReviewSpace projects. We have had mixed responses to the way that emails are sent within ReviewSpace.
Previously you would receive an email for the first action that has happened in a project. Until you visited that project you wouldn’t get anymore updates (to avoid spamming you). Whilst we thought this was quite a clever process, it did however mean that if you missed the initial email, then you would be unaware of any new updates.
We then changed this so that you received an email for every update for each project – this resulted in a swarm of emails (some for projects that you may have been part of, but not really active in).
As a solution, we have introduced per project email settings, so that you can choose not to receive updates for particular projects.
Within each project you will now see a new actions panel, where you will be able to easily perform all of the actions associated with a project including the ability to toggle your email settings.
You will also notice that the email preference has been removed from the My Account section (it is now only accessible from within each project).
We hope these new updates will be useful to you, but as ever we’d love to hear your comments and feedback.
Look out for our second post, which explains our new Activity feeds!
